Phra That Chae Haeng Temple

History - According to the Nan Chronicles, Phraya Kankarn, the Lord of Nan, invited the relics of the Lord Buddha from Sukhothai to be enshrined at Doi Phu Phiang Chae Haeng. According to legend, the Lord Buddha came to bathe on the bank of the Nan River at Ban Huai Kai. Phraya Monrat brought the fruit of the myrobalan tree as an offering, but it was very dry. The Lord Buddha soaked the fruit in water before eating it and prophesied that someone would bring the relics here to be enshrined.
