Wat Sabo Kaew, a beautiful temple in Tai Yai art in Phrae

🙏Wat Srabokaew, formerly known as Wat Chong Klang, is a uniquely beautiful Burmese art temple. The church, pavilion, and kuti are all in one building. They were built entirely of wood by Burmese people, known as Tai Yai or Ngio, who came to trade or work for companies that held concessions for forestry and gem mining in Phrae. They lived on both sides of Nam Khue Road and Yantharakit Koson Road. This temple is also a place of residence for Burmese monks who traveled to study Buddhism in Thailand. 🙏The name Wat Srabokaew is because in the past, the temple area was a pond with water all year round. There were Kaew trees (Phikun trees) planted around it, which is the origin of the temple's name. Interesting things in the temple include: 🧎♂️The Buddha image enshrined in this temple is a Buddha image brought from Mandalay, Myanmar. It is a single piece of marble, a replica of the Mahamuni Buddha in a royal costume. It is carved with great care and meticulous craftsmanship. 🧎♂️Phra That Ku Kong Kham is a Burmese art pagoda similar to the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. In a model 🧎♂️ and the Buddha image Phra Upakut, which Lanna people like to worship and believe that he is still a living monk, living in the middle of the ocean. Every night of the full moon, the 15th day of the waxing moon, which falls on Wednesday, Phra Upakut will go out to collect alms to help animals.
