Pay homage to Phra That Doi Leng, Nan Province

Wat Phra That Doi Leng is a temple located in Cho Hae Subdistrict, Mueang Phrae District, Phrae Province, on a high mountain to the southeast of Phra That Cho Hae. Currently, Phra Methee Wachiratham is the abbot. There is no clear evidence of the year it was built, but there is a legend that it was built at the same time as Phra That Cho Hae and Phra That Chom Chaeng. It is said that the Lord Buddha traveled to teach the people on a mountain to the south of Doi Thachakkha Banphot. He arrived at Chuen Chaeng (near dawn), so he called it Phra That Chom Chaeng. After that, he traveled north to Thachakkha Banphot and stayed there. He gave the hair relic to Khun Lua Ai Kom to keep. Then he traveled southeast and stayed on a mountain in Kosai City. He placed his alms bowl nearby. That mountain is called Doi Phu Wang. Then he came to stay on another mountain and looked at the landscape of Kosai City. He said that it was a pleasant city, suitable for building a city. When he stayed and looked at the city, In the past, there was only one chedi on Doi Leng.
