Wat Chaiwatthanaram in Ayutthaya, Thailand

Wat Chaiwatthanaram is a temple located in the Ayutthaya Historical Park in Thailand. Situated on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, it is one of the most beautiful and majestic temples in Ayutthaya, and a popular spot for many travel enthusiasts. In 1630, King Prasat Thong of the Ayutthaya Kingdom ordered the construction of this temple to commemorate his mother who lived here. Its design style adopted the then-popular Khmer style. The central structure is a grand Khmer-style prang, surrounded by four smaller prangs, and further encircled by eight even smaller prangs and gates, creating a spectacular sight. This place is not only a center of Buddhist faith but also a great spot to appreciate Thai architectural style and culture.
