Open for everyone to study history. The Portuguese Village is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River to the west of Ayutthaya. It was built to spread religion and be a community center. Currently, there is the ancient site of St. Peter or St. Dominic's Church, which is the first church in Thailand. Built in 2083
The building is divided into 3 parts. The front part is a Catholic cemetery. The middle part is used for religious ceremonies and burials of priests. The back and sides are residential areas. The excavation found important antiques such as human skeletons, tobacco pipes, coins, pottery, glass bracelets, and religious items. The cemetery found 254 skeletons, buried in an orderly row and densely overlapping both inside and outside the church. Free admission.
