[Cambodia🇰🇭] 7 recommended spots in Phnom Penh

⁡ \7 recommended spots in Phnom Penh 🇰🇭/ ⁡ 1. The Killing Fields 2. Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum 3. Royal Palace 4. Silver Pagoda 5. Wat Phnom 6. Independence Monument 7. Phnom Penh Night Market Phnom Penh is a place where you can learn about the negative history of the tragic rule that took place during the Pol Pot regime. It's hard to believe that such facts that make you want to look away actually happened about 50 years ago, but what we can do now is to learn about them and try not to repeat the same thing. If you have time, I recommend you visit them◎ But be careful not to push yourself too hard. #overseastraveltrip

Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum

Address: រាជធានី, សង្កាត់បឹងកេងកង៣ ខណ្ឌចំការមន, St 113, Phnom Penh 1234 Key Points: A school converted into a massacre site by the Khmer Rouge Average Price Per Person: $5 for foreigners (additional $3 for headset guide) The cruelty of the Khmer Rouge... The sadness and fear of the victims who fell for it remain intact... A sad place for the souls of the victims who waited for death in such a haphazardly built prison in this heat

Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum

The museum is the once prison that contained many people who were subsequently killed. Once a school, the museum offers a humbling account of the genocide. You can walk in the torture rooms and cells, and speak with some of the still living survivors of the tragic era. Highly recommend a tour guide to take you around this site and the Killing Fields to get the full picture. There are a couple of survivors that will share their story with you about how they survived. Buy their books or souvenirs to help support them.

Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum

Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum or Tuol Sleng as it is often called, was transformed from a school into a prison for interrogation, torture and murder of accused Khmer Rouge prisoners. It is believed that over the course of a few years between 1975 and 1979, no less than ten thousand people died there. Although it is not a prison today, to commemorate the victims of that event, the current Cambodian government has turned Tuol Sleng into a museum to tell stories and teach lessons from the brutal past.
