A day at Phi Mai historical park, Phi Mai

About an hour and half hour drive from the Korat, lies the ancient Khmer ruins of Phi Mai. The historical park is famous UNESCO heritage sight. #urbanexplorer #history #nationalpark #historical #newyearadventure The Phimai Historical Park is one of the largest Khmer temples in Thailand. It is located in the town of Phimai, Nakhon Ratchasima province. It draws great similarities from Wat Angkor , the largest Hindu temple in Cambodia. Most buildings are built in the Khmer style, and were built around 13th and 14th century. Am interesting historical fact is that while Khmer temples are usually East facing, the temples at Phi Mai at South East facing, towards the direction of Wat Angkor, Cambodia.
