Ban Laem is another district of Phetchaburi Province that has an area next to the sea. Importantly, this is another large source of sea salt production in Thailand. It is a district in Phetchaburi Province that received the royal grace of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn on May 9, 1904, after it was previously established and merged with Mueang Phetchaburi District. Ban Laem is home to the largest salt fields in Thailand, accounting for 47 percent of all salt fields in the country.
