Sri Thep Historical Park is located in Tambon Si Thep, Amphoe Si Thep, Phetchabun Province. It is located in the highland area of the central region, which is a network connection point for the exchange of goods, trade routes and culture between the central region and the northeastern region, which has been important since the late prehistoric era, continuing until the ancient Khmer culture (8th-18th Buddhist century).
The city plan is quite round, with an area of approximately 1.87 square kilometers (1,300 rai). Within the city, the terrain is a rolling plain. There are 48 ancient sites related to Buddhism and Hinduism. They have art forms in the Dvaravati culture (12th-16th Buddhist century) and ancient Khmer culture (16th-18th Buddhist century). There are important and large ancient sites, such as Khao Khlang Nai, Prang Si Thep and Prang Song Phi Nong, located almost in the middle of the city, towards the west. In addition, there are more than 70 large and small ancient ponds.
