Wat Tako

Wat Tako, Luang Por Ruay, Ayutthaya Province This temple is where Luang Por Ruay, a famous monk, resided. Later in 2560, Phra Khru Sunthonthammaniwit (Luang Por Ruay Pasathiko) passed away. His disciples kept his remains and found that Luang Por Ruay’s remains did not decompose, so they kept them in a glass coffin for his disciples and devotees to pay homage to. The Pasathiko Great Stupa stands out prominently in the center of Wat Tako. The stupa has two floors. The lower floor is the base, a large open room with a glass coffin containing Luang Por Ruay’s remains that can be entered for worship. The upper floor is a stupa enshrining the Buddha’s relics and statues of the ancestors.
