Franco Baldi's olive farm is located in a small village called Petroio in the Chiana Valley south of Siena. It is close to Montalcino and Montepulciano, famous for their wines, and Pienza, known as a World Heritage Site. The olive farm is the crystallization of Franco Baldi's dreams and passion. Franco was born in Pienza and worked at a textile factory in Prato. He acquired an abandoned house and a completely abandoned olive farm in Petroio, close to his hometown, and the story of his olive oil began when he did so. The field is also certified organic, and new seedlings are planted while the farmland is expanded. It is wonderful that successors are growing and the quality is stable, even though many farms are struggling with the issue of successors. I contacted the farm before going and was able to tour it and buy olive oil.
