Tiger's Nest, Paro

Tiger's Nest, or Paro Taktsang, is one of the most iconic and sacred sites in Bhutan. Located in the Paro Valley, this stunning monastery sits atop a cliff at an elevation of over 3,000 meters. The hike up to Tiger's Nest is definitely worth the effort. The trek begins at the base of the mountain, where you'll wind through a dense forest, across a babbling brook, and up a steep ascent. Along the way, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the valley below and the surrounding mountains. You'll also pass by several prayer wheels and chortens, adding to the spiritual nature of the experience. As you approach the top, the trail becomes steeper and more challenging, with steep steps leading up to the monastery.
