Pakse,Laos

Hi everyone, We would absolutely love to share our experiences in Pakse, Laos! We spent two nights and three days there and had such a wonderful time. 1. We started our journey from Ubon Ratchani in Thailand, where we paid 200 THB to get a bus to Laos. It normally takes about three and a half hours to enter Laos. 2. When we got to the Laos border for Thai citizens, it was free to get a visa, but you had to pay 100 THB to get in. If you're British like my partner, you'll need to pay for a visa to get into Laos. It's 2000 THB, but you can do it at the border in the "VISA ON ARRIVAL" section. 3. On our first day, we were absolutely exhausted from the journey. So, we decided to take it easy and just relax. We stayed at the incredible "Intouch Riverside Hotel" in Pakse. It has a swimming pool on the roof, which was really cool! And breakfast was included. 4. On our second day, we decided to go to the amazing Tad Fane Waterfall. We did some research and read on other travellers' blogs. They said we could get a van or the public transport to the waterfall. When we arrived at the market, we saw buses and other public transport, but they were all full. We tried to talk with the locals, who were really helpful. They told us that we could get a taxi, which cost us 1,000 THB with a return journey. (I know it's quite pricey, but it was worth it!) We finally got to enjoy the day. Then we got in the car with a stranger, who was so kind. It was a bit of a surprise, but it was so exciting! It was heavy rain ☔️, but we had a great time. So, he had to go back to his house to change his TukTuk to a car, and guess what happened next? The car broke on the way to the waterfall, but we still made it eventually! We were waiting for about an hour and a half, and thought that we might have to extend our holidays. As we thought we wouldn’t make it😭😭😭😭, we were really happy to make it! On day 2, we finally got a lift to the waterfall! The taxi driver called his brother to come and pick us up, and we were so relieved. When we arrived at the incredible Tad Fane waterfall, we were thrilled to discover that entrance tickets cost just 100 THB each! For the zipline, it was 1500 THB each, plus photo and video services for just 250 THB. We enjoyed it so much.
