This is not only the third largest city in Japan, but also a city of smiles, fun, and delicious food that melts the heart every time you try it. ⸻ Explore the most delicious food sources at Dotonbori Start your trip at Dotonbori, a district full of lights, sounds, and the aroma of various Japanese foods. Let me tell you, this place is a foodie’s paradise! Walk past the famous Glico Man sign. It is always lively no matter whether it is morning or night. The Takoyaki restaurant has an enticing aroma that is extremely mouthwatering. The round, hot balls with a soft, chewy interior are topped with fresh squid and topped with a secret recipe sauce. Sweet and salty, just standing and eating is a pleasure. Okonomiyaki or Japanese pizza here is also soft and smooth. Plus, there are many fillings to choose from, such as pork, seafood, or melted cheese. If you don’t like spicy, you have to try it. It’s so delicious that you’ll have to ask for another plate! Fresh sushi at a small shop in an alley. The fish pattern looks so cute that you don't dare to eat it. But when you take your first bite, you almost stop breathing. It's as delicious as finding love in the form of raw fish. ⸻ Visit Universal Studios Japan, which never disappoints. If you're a fun-loving person who loves rides, you must not miss Universal Studios Japan or USJ. This is a dreamland for people of all ages! We started with the Harry Potter zone, which made us feel like we were really in the magical world. From Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmeade Village, to Butterbeer, which is sweet and refreshing. Minion Park is also super cute. The little minions ran around for us to take pictures nonstop. The newly opened Super Nintendo World gave us a real-life gaming experience. There are VR rides and activities to enjoy throughout the zone. It's recommended to buy tickets in advance and prepare yourself because the popular rides have long lines, but the fun is worth the wait! ⸻ Shopping in Shinsaibashi and Tenjinbashi-suji For shopaholics, Osaka also has a very lively shopping street. Such as Shinsaibashi and Tenjinbashi-suji A kilometer long stretch of small shops, cafes, cute souvenirs, Japanese cosmetics, and fashionable clothes. This place is like a fashion market mixed with a colorful gallery. What I really like is the cute stationery shops with cute Japanese notebooks, pens, and stickers. We bought a lot of them as souvenirs for our friends. ⸻ Cute cafes in Osaka On our way, we found a cat-themed cafe, a sweets cafe, and a traditional teahouse. Each cafe is decorated cutely. There are cute photo spots and sweets that are just as cute as their appearance. We tried a green tea parfait made from real matcha. The flavor was strong. It was just the right amount of sweet. It was so beautiful that we almost didn't want to eat it, but it was so satisfying to eat! ⸻ Osaka Castle and beautiful gardens On a day when we wanted to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, we went to Osaka Castle, a very famous and beautiful castle. There are green gardens around and cute little paths. It is perfect for taking pictures and relaxing. If you come during the spring when the cherry blossoms bloom, it will be a beautiful dream-like scene. ⸻ Kuromon Market, a foodie's paradise Kuromon Market is a fresh market full of fresh seafood, Japanese sweets shops, and snacks. We tried the grilled scallops that were grilled right in front of us. The aroma was overwhelming. The fresh raw fish and the soft, sweet egg were so smooth. Just tap your ICOCA card or Suica and you can board the train. The stations have clear English signs, and the staff are friendly and helpful all the way. ⸻ The warmth of the people Osaka people are very kind and friendly. Even though they are not good at English, they try to help with smiles and kindness. We got help from locals many times. It felt like we had new friends throughout the trip. ⸻ Cute souvenirs to bring home Before you go back, don't forget to buy souvenirs like KitKat with strange flavors, Japanese snacks, cartoon models, and cute stationery at Don Quijote or Loft. We like cute cartoon notebooks.
