[Hiroshima Prefecture] Onomichi's newest attraction! A chalk-white contemporary art piece inside a temple, "Miraishin no Oka"

Ikuchijima Island in Hiroshima Prefecture floats in the Seto Inland Sea. On this island, there is Miraishin no Oka, a new tourist spot in Onomichi and a recently talked-about photo spot. Miraishin no Oka stands on a hill in the grounds of a temple called Kosanji Temple. (Therefore, you need to pay an admission fee to enter.) Kosanji Temple itself is very beautiful with its gorgeous Shinden-zukuri style of architecture, but its history is actually short. It was founded by a Showa era businessman who became a Buddhist monk to pray for the soul of his mother. Miraishin no Oka is an outdoor art piece created in a corner of the Kosanji Temple Museum, where the collection of the head priest, a former businessman, is on display. The work was created by Kuetani Itto, a leading figure in contemporary Japanese sculpture. It is a 5,000 square meter white marble garden created by Mr. All the marble used was mined in Carrara, Italy. Apparently, it was transported by container ship. Surprisingly, there were a lot of foreign tourists. Personally, the view of the Seto Inland Sea was the best.
