An Ancient Treasure Sakura

#cherryblossom2024 A treasure trove hidden in the hills Metsu-ji is a beautiful temple of the Shingon School in the hills of the city of Obama. It was built in 806 by the military ruler Sakanoue Tamuramaro, who had long dreamed of erecting a temple here. The main hall and the three-storey pagoda were created during the Kamakura period. There are many real treasures in the temple. How to get there It takes about 10 minutes by taxi from JR Obama Station to Metsu-ji. Hidden germs The main hall and the three—storey pagoda of the temple are incredible works of architecture with more than 1200 years of history. There are many Buddha statues in both buildings. Four of them are recognized as national treasures. Both these and the colorful frescoes inside the pagoda can be seen only a few times a year when the building is ventilated. Every season is beautiful in its own way: Sakura blooms in spring, in summer the trees are dressed in lush greenery, in autumn — in red and yellow, and in winter everything is covered with white snow.
