A town famous for its monastery

Spanish Pyrenees Hike ~ Zaragoza (Region) Nuévalos sits on the banks of the Piedra river, at the end of the La Tranquera reservoir. The limestone cliffs cut by the Piedra River and the vegetation that grows along its banks make this a great spot to see a large number of raptors and rock-dwelling birds. Likewise, in the La Tranquera reservoir and its extensive reed beds, many herons, cormorants and ducks can be seen, depending on the time of year. The reservoir has been developed into a venue for water sports. There is excellent fishing in the reservoir and in parts of the Piedra River. At the same time, the Monastery of Piedra is one of the most important tourist centers in Aragon.
