In addition to the fact that most high-end hotels and restaurants add a 10% service charge to their bills, there are other places where tipping may be required. Krabi accommodations vary from region to region and from different types of accommodation. You can find a backpacker about 150 baht in Krabi Town, or a luxury resort of 4,000 baht or more on Phi Phi Island or Koh Lanta. In general, the conditions of the 1,500 baht or so are already very good.
