A Journey Through Time at the Dougga Ruins

On our second day in 🇹🇳, the 🚌 took us to this hidden gem first👉🏻 📍Dougga Located in northern 🇹🇳, Dougga was the capital of the Carthaginian state. This ancient city has been well-preserved to this day, allowing us to glimpse how people lived nearly two thousand years ago during the Roman era. 1️⃣ Theater 🎭 At the entrance is a large semicircular theater that can hold 3,500 people. The first 5 rows of seats were for VIPs, and the back rows were for commoners. The entire design conforms to acoustic principles, allowing the audience to hear the sounds from the stage. 2️⃣ Temple 🏛️ After seeing the theater, walk up the slope to see this temple with 6 Roman columns. It's very picturesque. It's a pity that the weather was bad on the day we went, and it even rained a few drops. Otherwise, it would be even more magnificent under the light and shadow. Walking further inside, there are more traces of ancient life: There is a courtyard with flowers 🏡, and a 🚾 that can accommodate more than a dozen people at the same time. According to the tour guide, it is not divided into men and women. There are also Roman baths, which were already paved with mosaics at that time. 🔭 Continue climbing higher and looking into the distance, I seem to see a vibrant and bustling city.
