Graham Island

Graham Island (Mediterranean Sea) Also known as Isola Ferdinandea, this is a submerged volcanic island situated approximately 30 km south of Sicily, Italy. The island has emerged above sea level multiple times due to volcanic activity, with the most recent appearance in 1831. During that event, it became the center of a sovereignty dispute among Britain, France, Spain, and the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. However, the island soon eroded and submerged again by early 1832. Currently, the summit of the underwater volcano lies about 8 meters below sea level, posing a potential hazard to maritime navigation.
