I originally thought Hangzhou's West Lake was beautiful enough, until I came to Dongqian Lake in Ningbo. Dongqian Lake is very, very large, three times the size of West Lake! Yet it has fewer people than West Lake, more local life than Qiandao Lake, and is closer than Erhai. Just find a weekend to stroll by the lake and chill all day~ - 🚄 Depart from Ningbo High-Speed Rail Station, take Metro Line 4 directly to Dongqian Lake 🛵 You can walk + take a sightseeing bus or ride an electric scooter to tour around the lake - ✅ Recommended check-in spots (all free 🆓) 1️⃣ Academician Center's popular tree Just search directly on the map, it’s right by the big lawn at the Academician Center, a huge camphor tree. There are benches under the tree, with the blue lake and white walls with black tiles of the lakeside village in the distance—photos straight from your phone look beautiful! - 2️⃣ Limin Village Walk down the stairs next to the Academician Center to reach the lakeside. Pass through the village to the Taogong Road along the lake, where boats are docked by the shore and solitary trees stand—perfect spots to stop for photos and rest anytime. At the end is Limin Village built by the lake~ The village has many small shops, both artistic and down-to-earth. You can order a cup of coffee and sit by the lake daydreaming all afternoon. - 3️⃣ International Lake House Ningbo’s little Switzerland, now the dawn redwoods are starting to turn red, as beautiful as a painting! - In the evening, you can have dinner at Hanling Old Street and stay overnight by Dongqian Lake~
