Today, I’m sharing our 5-day, 4-night Ningbo trip guide with a budget of 8000 RMB. Just follow along and you’re good to go! Preparation 1. Documents: ID card, student ID (if you have one, bring it along as some attractions offer discounts). 2. Clothing: Ningbo is damp and cold in winter, so bring a thick coat, scarf, hat, and gloves; for other seasons, pack regular seasonal clothes plus a light jacket in case it gets chilly. 3. Daily essentials: Toiletries, skincare, makeup, chargers, power bank. 4. Medicine: Cold medicine, stomach medicine, motion sickness pills, fever medicine, band-aids. Accommodation Suggestions We recommend staying in Haishu District or Yinzhou District, both have convenient transportation, lots of nearby food options, and are close to most attractions. Our group of 5 chose a vacation rental, costing just over 100 RMB per person per night, and it was super comfortable 😌. Itinerary Day 1: Nantang Old Street - Yuehu Park ● Morning: Arrive in Ningbo, check into the rental, and rest a bit. ● Noon: Head to Nantang Old Street to try local delicacies like Youzanzi, Ningbo Tangyuan, and Huizhi Tuan—absolutely delicious 👍. The 5 of us sampled a bit of everything and spent less than 200 RMB total. ● Afternoon: Stroll around Nantang Old Street to experience Ningbo’s history, culture, and traditional architecture. ● Evening: Walk around Yuehu Park and enjoy the night view. Day 2: Tianyi Pavilion - Drum Tower - Old Bund ● Morning: Visit Tianyi Pavilion, the oldest private library in China, with a rich cultural atmosphere 📚. Tickets are 30 RMB per person, 150 RMB for 5 people. ● Noon: Have lunch near Drum Tower, trying Ningbo specialties like Red Crab Roe and Snow Vegetable with Large Yellow Croaker—so fresh and tasty! This meal cost about 400 RMB. ● Afternoon: Explore Drum Tower area, which has many snacks and specialty shops. ● Evening: Go to the Old Bund to admire European-style architecture and beautiful river views, and maybe stop by a bar for a drink 🥂. Day 3: Xikou Scenic Area ● Morning: Joined a one-day tour costing about 200 RMB per person, including tickets and transportation. Xikou Scenic Area features attractions like Chiang Kai-shek’s former residence and Xuedou Mountain, with stunning natural and cultural sights. ● Noon: Lunch at a restaurant inside the scenic area, a bit pricey, 5 of us spent 300 RMB. ● Afternoon: Continue exploring Xikou Scenic Area and take photos 📷. ● Evening: Return to the city and enjoy street food at the night market. Day 4: Dongqian Lake ● Morning: Take a bus to Dongqian Lake, known for its beautiful lake and mountain scenery. Rent a multi-person bike to ride around the lake 🚲, about 20 RMB per person. ● Noon: Have lunch at a farmhouse restaurant near Dongqian Lake, fresh and delicious farm dishes, 5 of us spent 350 RMB. ● Afternoon: Walk by the lake, soak up the sun, and enjoy a leisurely time. ● Evening: Return to the city and have dinner at a mall, enjoyed hot pot, spent 450 RMB. Day 5: Ningbo Museum - Return Trip ● Morning: Visit Ningbo Museum to learn about the city’s history and culture. The museum is free, but remember to book in advance via their official WeChat. ● Noon: Lunch at a restaurant near the museum, then pack up and check out of the rental. ● Afternoon: End the wonderful Ningbo trip and head home.
