This landmark hotel in Ningbo now has a new name

Every city has a landmark hotel that witnesses urban development and accompanies the growth of generations. The 12-year-old InterContinental Ningbo is one such example. Now, this iconic hotel has been rebranded as Vignette Collection Ningbo Greentown Zunlan Hotel, still under the IHG umbrella—marking the first Vignette Collection property in Ningbo. Nestled by the shimmering river and lush gardens, the hotel's architecture was masterfully designed by the globally renowned WATG team, while its interiors were meticulously crafted by Singapore's LTW. Even by today's standards, the design remains timeless: the soaring lobby pillars adorned with circular lighting fixtures and the adjacent spiral staircase were all the rage 12 years ago. Looking down, you'll find the all-day dining restaurant featuring wall cascades and koi ponds. According to the hotel, comprehensive renovations of its restaurants and guest rooms will commence soon. During my stay, I experienced the Executive Floor, newly introduced in 2022, which boasts a more contemporary design with warm tones and gold accents—a trendy combination. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame picturesque views, making it ideal for both business and leisure. The 25th-floor Executive Lounge offers unparalleled panoramic vistas, including the striking red Academician Bridge and distant city landmarks. The adjacent lakeside area is especially enchanting at dusk, where curious waterbirds might just lock eyes with you.
