Here, every artifact carries a story, and every story is waiting to meet you. ………… The building of Ningbo Museum itself is a work of art. It is a filming location for the TV series "The Three-Body Problem". The museum was designed by Wang Shu, a Pritzker Architecture Prize winner, who skillfully combined modern architectural language with traditional Ningbo elements to create a style that is both modern and full of local characteristics. The exterior walls of the museum are made of millions of old bricks and tiles, called "tile walls". These bricks and tiles were collected from the demolition of the old city of Ningbo. The exterior walls also feature bamboo-textured concrete, which is created by pressing bamboo onto the surface of the concrete to form a unique texture. This not only reflects the cultural characteristics of the region but also adds a natural and rustic touch to the building! The Maritime Silk Road starting point Ningbo and the Land Silk Road starting point Xi'an are two silk roads that rise and fall, interacting and reflecting each other. The entire exhibition centers on Ningbo and Xi'an, unfolding a dialogue across time and space, with precious collections from museums along the Silk Road.
