📓: Duku Highway Halfway Journey When I was in college, my Xinjiang history teacher said, "Darlings, if you have the chance, you must take a trip on the Duku Highway. You can see all four seasons in one day, and the weather changes every ten miles." Looking at the teacher's radiant eyes, I quickly jotted down "Duku Highway" in my notes. In early summer 2022, my best friend and I, without any preparation or planning, happily set off with our dogs, Laifu and Qiuqiu. The flat and open national highway, the narrow and winding mountain roads, the steep curves and slopes, the strange and rugged rocks, the layers of deep green mountains, the tall and straight pine trees, the bright and beautiful sea of flowers, the distant snow-capped peaks like oil paintings, the low-lying white clouds, the sapphire-like small lakes, the waterfalls flowing down, the cows resting in the middle of the road, the plump and fat sheep, the shepherds riding horses and waving whips, and their loyal and tired sheepdogs. We were amazed and nervous, with countless cyclists and cars from other provinces. Our laughter and playful voices mixed with the car music were left on that road. We persistently chased a cloud that looked like it was from a Hayao Miyazaki animation, getting closer and closer in our view. We marveled, "How can there be such an unreal cloud?" Flipping through the photo album, I realized that the happiness at that time was so long-lasting that it made me happy even now. You only know how beautiful those roads are after you've walked them.
