Queenston Heights Park: A national historic site established to commemorate the Battle of Queenston Heights between the United States and Canada

I am a sea-viewing and wave-listening tour+global traveler, please follow me! (Published the 1688th travel photography article in 56 countries/regions across 5 continents) About 10 kilometers north of Niagara Falls, there is a small village called Queenston. To the south of the village by the Niagara River, there is a highland overlooking a 100-meter-high cliff facing the river. This highland was the site of the famous Battle of Queenston Heights in 1812. That year, the Canadian (British) forces defeated the invading American army at this location, with a cost of 14 deaths and 77 injuries, causing 300 casualties and capturing 958 Americans, achieving a significant victory. Now, this place has been turned into Queenston Heights Park, and the Canadian Parliament has designated it as the National Historic Site of Canada for visitors to explore. The park is open all year round for free (with services such as guided tours provided in summer). Inside the park, there is Brock's Monument, commemorating Sir Isaac Brock, a British Major General who died here during the War of 1812. From the highland platform of the park, one can also enjoy the view of the Niagara River ahead, which is quite spectacular. Address: 14184 Niagara Pkwy Niagara-on-the-Lake ON L0S 1J0
