First Road Trip in NZ

First road trip in NZ, looking back 10 years ago... This post takes us back 10 years to my first time driving abroad and starting to travel internationally. I wanted to try driving in another country, so I got my international driving license for the first time. The first use was in New Zealand. My feelings about the first time: • The country is incredibly beautiful, everything you look at is beautiful, with incredibly beautiful nature, mountains, rivers, streams, really beautiful. The water in the streams is so clear and blue. I started to like and was impressed with traveling like this. • The first time driving in NZ, of course, from someone who used to drive in Thailand, driving in a different place with different traffic rules was something I had to prepare for. The good thing is that the steering wheel is on the same side as at home, which is somewhat reassuring. But still, I was nervous all over, braking often because the terrain is hilly with lots of ups and downs. And then I got a lot of middle fingers... At first, I felt terrible and started to fear driving because I was nervous, not to mention getting lost here and there. But on the other hand, I'm a tourist, and it's normal to get lost sometimes, and I stopped caring about the middle fingers or indirect warnings. Driving as myself as much as possible, it got better and I felt more at ease. • I was quite skilled for the first time, driving around both the North and South Islands. I even took the car on a ferry, a big ship crossing from the South to the North Island. Sitting on the ship, I almost vomited everywhere, it was so shaky. Tourists were almost doing somersaults on the ferry, it was fun and strange. • What I liked the most was the view of the flowers, farm animals, cows, sheep, it was so beautiful against the backdrop of grass and mountains. • Took a plane up to the top of a mountain, saw a glacier for the first time, it was the ultimate thrill. In conclusion, the first trip driving was a real learning experience. You have to be mindful, not nervous, study the traffic signs, study the tourist spots and locations, and I guarantee the journey will be as beautiful as a dream... And this sparked my passion for subsequent trips to this day. P.S. Stay tuned for the trip to the USA and my first time on a big cruise ship in Alaska.
