NY: ArchitectureFreedom and Beauty of Balance

#newyorktrip Let's take a little break from the people and the life of the city and focus on architecture. There is not just a lot of it in New York, but a lot. And very different. Big and small, tall and low, beautiful and not so much. Here you can find everything: the once tallest buildings in the world, and cozy residential neighborhoods with cute wooden houses, and projects by world-famous architects, and a rather gloomy and monotonous mass residential development. All this is sometimes difficult to perceive, since everything is insanely mixed up and adjacent to each other, climbing, overhanging and blocking the view. The New York architectural style is the absence of an architectural style in principle. One continuous endless eclecticism. But if you stop, look into the details and read the history, you can hang out for a very long time, immersing yourself in the styles, epochs and destinies of the people who built it all around. New York is amazing because even the most ordinary house can have a stunningly interesting background. What can we say about buildings with world-famous names. The architecture of New York is a mosaic of all styles. New York cannot be called a city where any one architectural style prevails, but it is this feature that makes it so magnificent. You only need the fingers of one hand to remember how many neighborhoods there are in New York. Locals, bending their fingers and naming them, start with the one in which they live, and leave the little finger to Staten Island (as the most remote and sparsely populated). So, 5 districts of the Big Apple: Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and our "little finger". But these are just administrative districts of the city. In fact, looking at the map, you are guided by smaller "districts", of which Manhattan alone has 12, and each, as you understand, has its own name, invented for the most part by realtors. And everywhere is a incredible mix of architectural styles!
