Habu City

There are about 14 attractions in Medinet Habu, among which the Temple of Ramses III is the most worth seeing. The colors of the murals and the carvings are well preserved. It is said that after the Copts settled here more than 1,500 years ago, most of the ancient buildings were destroyed, and the Temple of Luxor is the only relatively well-preserved site. It is said that this is the place where Amun (the sun god) first appeared, so it can be considered one of the important religious centers in history. But apart from the traditional religious colors, the biggest feature of this temple is that it depicts a large number of war scenes, recording the battles and victories of Ramses, reflecting the turbulent situation at that time. The Temple of Luxor also has a hypostyle hall similar to that of the Karnak Temple, which is my favorite part. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by an earthquake, but walking through it, you can still feel the beauty of Venus in its ruins. Be sure to pay attention to the ceiling of the pylon connected to the hypostyle hall. The murals are very well preserved. The goddess Nekhbet appears in the form of a vulture, symbolizing the protection of Egypt and the temple from above. Ramses means 'son of the sun god'. Perhaps because of Ramses' glorious achievements, the pharaohs of the Twentieth Dynasty later liked to be called Ramses. But Ramses III may be the last relatively accomplished pharaoh of the pharaonic era. He was famous for his military exploits but died at the hands of a concubine. The above part is excerpted from 'Qiongyou Travel Tips'. More interestingly, the previous article shared views on the Valley of the Kings and received many comments. However, in the opening chapter of Habu City, I saw in the 'Tips' that: 'Compared to the now empty Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Ramses III in Habu City is more worth visiting. Travelers. It turns out that I like reading the strategies in 'Qiongyou Guide' for a reason...
