[Ohara Shrine/Chiba Prefecture] A shrine dedicated to a married couple of deities that brings good luck in finding love

Ohara Shrine in Narashino City, Chiba Prefecture 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 A shrine built in Mimomi Hongo in the first year of Tenji (1124). It is the guardian deity of the former Mimomi village, and its deity is Izanami-no-Mikoto. Later, in Meiji 41, Omiya Shrine, which was located in Kamijuku, was enshrined here and there. As the deity enshrined at Omiya Shrine was Izanagi-no-Mikoto, the presence of the husband and wife deities is said to bring good luck in "matchmaking"! The grounds are home to Machiavellia thunbergii, Akagashi oak, and Kuromatsu, and are registered as one of the 100 famous trees of Narashino! Another distinctive feature is the "flower kusudama" that can be seen all over the grounds. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when people spent much of their time at home, worshippers made flower kusudama to donate to the shrine. They say they still make donations every month. In front of the main shrine, there are also figurines of lucky dogs, which are said to symbolize prayers for safe childbirth, and animals of the Chinese zodiac.
