Autumn in Langshan Mountain Langshan Mountain Scenic Area in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, is a famous mountain with a rich history and cultural heritage. Located on the east bank of the Yangtze River, it is known as the first famous mountain at the mouth of the Yangtze River. During this National Day holiday, we chose to avoid the peak tourist season and visit Langshan Mountain in Nantong to experience its autumn charm. Langshan Mountain was originally in the Yangtze River and only connected to the land in the Northern Song Dynasty. It is not only a place of natural beauty but also rich in historical and cultural significance. The Tang Dynasty monk Jianzhen once stopped here to avoid the wind, and it is said that one of the four great poets of the early Tang Dynasty, Luo Binwang, was buried at the foot of the mountain. Guangjiao Temple on Langshan Mountain, as the first of the eight small Buddhist mountains, is dedicated to both Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva and Mahasattva Bodhisattva. Mahasattva Bodhisattva Sengjia was a high monk of the Tang Dynasty and the founder of Langshan Mountain. He built a temple on Langshan Mountain to worship Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, treated the sick, and controlled the water for the people, earning great respect. The Zhiyun Pagoda on Langshan Mountain was built in memory of Sengjia. In one corner of Langshan Mountain, there is also a Huanggong Pagoda, built in memory of the master Zhihuan, who revived Langshan Mountain. The couplet in the Falu Hall of Guangjiao Temple, "Among the thousands of famous temples, only here can one see the greatness in the small; among the eighteen high monks, only there can one seek the truth in the midst of confusion," allows one to appreciate the profound cultural heritage of Langshan Mountain. At the highest point of Langshan Mountain, the sea and sky meet, vast and boundless. Here, one can not only appreciate the artistic conception of Wang Anshi's poem, "Who broke through the Kunlun Mountains for ten thousand miles, with boundless waves crashing against the sky," but also feel the ever-changing landscape, social development, and urban construction. On October 4, after Typhoon "Koni" passed, Langshan Mountain was clear and refreshing. The moderate flow of people in the scenic area made it comfortable and pleasant. Here, we not only enjoyed the autumn scenery of Langshan Mountain but also appreciated its history and culture. Langshan Mountain, a must-visit mountain, its autumn charm is unforgettable.
