Interestingly, Nantong Museum is one of the few comprehensive museums in the country that combines Chinese-style gardens with Western-style museums, and it even has several whale skeletons that many natural history museums don't have! However, the other exhibits are limited in number and of average value, and many rooms in the museum are not open to the public. Currently, only Zhang Jian's residence Hao Nan Villa is charging an entrance fee. Nantong Heroes Pavilion is built among a group of historical buildings, fully showcasing the stories and deeds of Nantong's celebrities. The architecture is beautiful, but there are slightly fewer notable figures from Nantong... It's still quite good for outsiders to learn about Nantong's historical and cultural background, and it's very close to the museum, so you can visit both at the same time. 2 Se Garden & Wolf Hill Se Garden is a 4A tourist spot and a national key cultural relic protection unit. The tomb of Zhang Jian, a notable person from Nantong and a modern industrialist, is located within. The garden has a beautiful environment and scenery, with a variety of rare tree species. In addition to Zhang Jian's tomb, the garden also has attractions such as Zhang's Banquet Hall and Lotus Breeze, and some leisure projects have been set up. It is a combination of the classical and the present, nature and humanity on the outskirts of the city. It is very suitable for a happy leisure tour while paying respects to Zhang Jian. Wolf Hill is also a 4A tourist spot, known as the first of the eight minor Buddhist mountains, and it's interesting to see a few small hills rising from the flat plains near the mouth of the Yangtze River, earning it the reputation of 'the first mountain of the Yangtze River'. With an altitude of just over a hundred meters, climbing is generally easy and doesn't require a cable car. The scenic area includes Guangjiao Zen Temple, the tomb of Lu Binwang, and the Ping Wo Stele among other cultural relics. Guangjiao Zen Temple is a national key cultural relic, a complex that spreads across the mountain. The combination of mountain garden and Zen temple architecture complements the distant scenery of the Yangtze River, making it a nice natural attraction. You can take a taxi or ride an electric bike from Se Garden to Wolf Hill, and it's recommended to go in the afternoon. After the visit, take a taxi back to the city for dinner + a night tour of Hao River. You can choose to return on the same day, but if you're staying for a 2-day trip, a night tour of Hao River is recommended. Whether cycling, walking, or taking a boat, enjoying the night view along the Hao River is very pleasant in the spring and summer nights.
