Nanjing Hongshan completely changed my perception of zoos (͒ ⓿ᴥ⓿ )͒

After having kids, we go to the zoo more than ten times a year. Whenever we visit a new city, we basically take the kids to the zoo. Most zoos are pretty much the same, mostly focusing on interactive experiences with animals (feeding). But I found Nanjing Hongshan to be very different! 🙅‍♀️No animal feeding 🙅‍♀️No animal shows (animals perform naturally 😆 the earlier, the more active) 🌟Exhibit areas are named by region, like Dudu in the Gondwana area, red pandas in the Gaoligong area 🌟The signs and educational boards are super cute and very clear 🪧 🌟There are many self-guided learning zones that really make you want to learn 👍 🌟Animals with symbiotic relationships are kept together very harmoniously 🦎🐒 📚This time I learned two new geography facts (I didn’t pay attention in geography class back in the day 😅 please don’t blame me) ✅Gondwana: includes Africa, South America, Antarctica, Australia, etc. It started to split during the Jurassic period. The white-faced capuchin monkey Dudu is at the exit of this area. This monkey is known for being immune to many poisons. ✅Gaoligong: located in northwest Yunnan, meaning the mountains of the Gaoli family ⛰️. The red panda is a high-altitude species from Gaoligong. 🚏【Park Route】 Recommended to enter from the south and exit from the north, basically no backtracking and avoiding crowds. However, you can’t rent a mobility scooter at the south gate, so we walked the whole way. Route: Africa Zone ➟ Gondwana (Dudu) ➟ Asian Primates ➟ Food Court 🍜 ➟ Koala House ➟ Elephant House ➟ Gaoligong ➟ Tigers ➟ Bears ➟ Cats ➟ Wolves ➟ Native Animals ➟ Meerkats ➟ Tropical Birds ➟ Giant Pandas ➟ Exit North Gate Took 3 hours to tour. We didn’t get to see anything after the tigers 😭 which was a pity because by noon the kid was tired and wanted to nap in the stroller. But in the park, she was too excited to sleep. In the afternoon, we went to Jiefangmen to climb the city wall and then to Xuanwu Lake Park. 💝【Shopping Tips】 There are area-exclusive items that you might not find outside that zone, and the online store doesn’t have everything. My advice is, if you see something you like, buy it right away, don’t wait... 🐱➕🐄' ⁎⁺˳✧༚ Nanjing’s autumn has a big temperature difference. Bring a down jacket in your bag. When the sun is out, the baby wears a long-sleeve shirt + a small wool sweater + a small wool cardigan. As for me, when I go out, I like to wear versatile sports/jeans + sweater/hoodie, who understands 😆 It saves a lot of decision-making time every day.
