Nanjing, a modern city steeped in history

We were mainly worried that the Wang Dao Xie An Memorial Hall, located in Wuyi Alley, would be closed if we arrived too late. But it's actually open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. I guess the night view should be even more beautiful. The ticket is eight yuan, very cheap. "Wild grass and flowers by the Zhuque Bridge, the setting sun slants at the entrance of Wuyi Alley. Swallows from the former Wang and Xie families now fly into ordinary people's homes." Wuyi Alley has a very ancient charm, and my favorites are the Winding Stream and the Wuyi Alley Well. After leaving the memorial hall, we strolled around the Confucius Temple and tasted all kinds of classic snacks. In the evening, the lights of the Qinhuai River Scenic Belt came on one by one, and we could take a boat to experience the night mooring on the Qinhuai River. Because there were many young ladies in Hanfu constantly walking among the tourists, it felt like we had traveled through thousands of years and returned to the ancient city of Jinling. The crowds of tourists, the bright lights, and their reflections in the Qinhuai River created a scene of prosperity. The next day, we visited Jiming Temple. Jiming Temple has a long history and is a popular place of worship. Legend has it that it is a sacred place for severing bad relationships and fostering good ones. So, it was full of couples coming to offer incense. Under the yellow walls and black tiles, the green smoke of incense rose, calming the mind in its ethereal drift. Leaving Jiming Temple, under the ancient city wall of Nanjing, the blossoming peach trees seemed to brighten the history-laden walls. On the third day, we went to Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum to see the wintersweet. In order to avoid the Lunar New Year peak season, we arrived a little late. The wintersweet flowers were past their full bloom. But they were still picturesque. The scattered dots of yellow had a fragmented beauty, and occasionally, a wintersweet tree with slightly more complex blossoms stood out against the red wall, showing its elegance. A faint fragrance lingered in the air. The last photo is of a plant called Edgeworthia. The branches are knotted, which I've never seen before. The small flowers are especially beautiful.
