After careful comparison, we chose the Hidden Laomendong Hotel. Follow me and experience it for yourself 🍃Service: Having read reviews about the hotel being a renovated old building with poor soundproofing, we contacted the front desk in advance for a quiet room. We arrived early, before twelve, but the front desk lady was very accommodating and checked us in, even upgrading our room. She also took us to the room and explained how to use the facilities, which was very thoughtful. The room came with a complimentary minibar, snacks, and eye masks and earplugs, and fortunately, there was no noise during our stay. Because I liked the scent of the hotel's amenities, I asked for an extra set, and the lady kindly fetched it for me and left it at the front desk for me to pick up in the morning. Amazing! 🏠Room Facilities: Upon entering, we were amazed by the five-meter high ceiling in the hotel room. The bedding was soft yet resilient, and the sheets and covers were made of high-count 120-thread cotton, feeling smooth to the touch. There was underfloor heating for the winter, which took a while to warm up, so it might be a good idea to remind guests to turn it on early. But the underfloor heating was very comfortable, and combined with the smooth, textured floor, I just wanted to run around barefoot. The bathrobe was also silky and more comfortable than the ones at the five-star hotels we stayed at before. The toiletries were from the Australian niche brand Appelles, all with a rich forest scent that I really liked. The toothbrush and comb were made of wood, and looking at the trees in the courtyard, I almost thought I had left the city and moved into the forest. Our room was next to the hotel lobby, and I was quite envious of the higher-grade rooms that were in the courtyard, each with its own little yard. Next time, I'll consider experiencing a room in the courtyard. 📍Location and Transportation: The hotel is located inside the Laomendong scenic area, just a wall away from the snack street, which separates the quiet from the bustling. Stepping out for a stroll, various delicacies and beautiful shops are within easy reach. There's a parking lot right under the hotel, and it's only a few steps from the road. It takes only about ten minutes by taxi to Xinjiekou, and Zhonghua Gate is within walking distance. Apart from being a bit far from the subway station, the location is truly unique. 🍜Dining Experience: Because we were in a hurry on the last day, we had breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast was on the second floor of the lobby, which was small and didn't have many varieties, but the quality was good. You could also order Yangchun noodles, wontons, and vermicelli, etc. Looking out from the second floor, you could see the Dabaoen Temple and the Laomendong district, with a uniquely beautiful view. ❤Reasons for Recommendation: . ✅Great location, 5 minutes walk to Subway Line 10, direct access to major scenic spots👍 Perfect for a night stroll along the Qinhuai River with your boyfriend, enjoying the evening breeze by the Nanjing riverside, and comfortably walking home together - so delightful. ✅The overall decoration is minimalist wabi-sabi style, great for taking photos at home📷, and it comes with a huge projector screen facing the tatami bed, offering high-definition quality that rivals a private cinema~ The duplex loft room is 70 square meters!! Spacious and comfortable, just like being at home! . ✅Hygienic conditions are up to standard, and the service is on point. As soon as you enter the room, there is a faint scent that is very comforting, super reassuring~ The bathroom is also separated into wet and dry areas, so even those with a cleanliness obsession can rest assured. The landlord responds to messages very promptly, always ready to answer any questions🥳 .
