Knowing how to silence the detail-oriented critics, Nanjing Niushoushan Hilton Hotel

An early spring trip to Niushoushan to enjoy the flowers, half of my private intentions are reserved for this Niushoushan Hilton Hotel. From its inception to its preparation for opening, it has been in the spotlight with full attention, and as the 600th hotel operated by the group in the Greater China region, it has a milestone significance and is naturally not to be missed. Upon arrival at the hotel, the APP already showed an upgrade to a deluxe suite, which was impressive and greatly increased my satisfaction. The room is styled in a modern Chinese fashion, with one bedroom, one living room, and two bathrooms, simplifying complexity into a clear and bright space, which is very valuable for reference for those considering renovating or remodeling their own homes. The design team skillfully balanced aesthetics with livability through lighting and color coordination, dynamic line planning, and furniture arrangement, avoiding a chaotic style or feeling like living in a hotel. They also considered the current demand for multi-purpose rooms, with a raised platform near the balcony in the living room laid with tatami mats, a classic square table set for a two-person tea ceremony, and the fragrance of incense and tea overflowing, compatible with both Zen room and tea room functions. In the corner of the bedroom, a standing desk with the Four Treasures of the Study serves as a study. There are also many subtle touches hidden in the room, such as the rockery in the corner of the balcony, the lotus glass lamp on the shelf, the books on the desk, quietly filling the room with an Oriental charm. There are also uncommon practices, such as packing disinfected bathrobes in bags and providing wall-mounted steam irons, which can keep the detail-oriented guests quiet. The executive lounge was not open, compensated by a free first round from the Mini bar in the room, and a simple afternoon tea and evening meal set in the lobby bar. This solution is quite disappointing for members. Especially when the hotel has invested so much in its hardware, to quibble over these small benefits seems to show that the owner has wealth but lacks generosity. Considering the shadow of yesterday's lounge meal, I dared not have high expectations for today's breakfast. Even so, I still found the quality lacking and the service deficient. There were very few types of meals, mostly pre-made or frozen foods that were unappetizing. Local specialties were limited to duck blood vermicelli soup, with no other representation. Additionally, the hotel is so large with many elevators and confusing paths. I often had to take detours and saw no one to ask for directions, and if I went the wrong way, I had to follow through and then return the same way. In summary, the hardware standard is worthy of the flagship store of the Hilton family in China, and it should have few competitors within the next two or three years. I hope the lounge will reopen soon to make up for the shortcomings, and in the meantime, it is always worth a visit.
