Nanping Tulou in Zhangzhou, Fujian: Living in this Tulou is better than visiting 100 of them!

I came to Nanping, Zhangzhou, Fujian, and wanted to experience the local Tulou customs. However, several Tulou scenic spots are relatively scattered, commercialized, and crowded. Some famous Tulou are actually relatively dilapidated and cannot be lived in, and the living conditions are very simple. The best decision I made on this trip was to stay in a Tulou, especially this one, which allowed me to fully immerse myself in the Tulou culture. Let me start with the key points: 📍Address: Dulv Yunshuiyao Hedelou Tulou Culture B&B 💞Recommendation reason: While retaining the traditional architectural style of the Tulou, it guarantees a modern and exquisite accommodation experience. It is clean and tidy without losing the traditional charm, and the service is perfect. The location is right at the entrance of Yunshuiyao, which makes it very convenient to go out for fun. 🏖️Environment/Facilities: 1. Hanfu/photo props are free to use and very clean! 2. There is a tea room, providing free white tea and other local specialty teas 3. There is a bar with homemade rice wine, which is very surprising 4. We have cooperative farm dishes. The local farm dishes are very rich in taste. Contact the front desk and they can be delivered directly to the hotel for tasting. 5. The environment of each room is very good, and the front desk also upgraded our room type. 6. There are exclusive parking spaces. 💰Average consumption: It’s the off-season, more than 300 RMB per night. I was shocked as soon as I entered the door. Slogans from the Cultural Revolution period were preserved on the mud walls, which were a living display of history. After entering the door, there was a large pond with a lot of koi fish. The owner has been raising koi fish for many years and is an old actor. The homestay provides free fish food to feed the fish. Fishing can make money! Although it is a homestay, it is managed according to hotel standards. It rained during the days we were there, which made this trip to stay in the Tulou even more perfect. We met new friends who were also guests in the teahouse. We drank tea and chatted happily together. The rain dripping from the eaves into the pool was a perfect symphony. The homemade rice wine carefully prepared for us by the front desk also added a lot of atmosphere to this night. If we were hungry, we could eat takeout, and we could also order local Fujian specialties at affordable prices. I got up the next day and had a great time taking photos with the Hanfu provided by the homestay. I dare say that none of the earthen buildings in other scenic spots, whether paid or not, are as beautiful and clean as this one. The Hanfu and props in the homestay are maintained very carefully, and the clothes are all fragrant. As a person with mysophobia, I can totally accept it. It is really an experience that exceeds my expectations. Actually, I don’t really want to tell too many people about this hidden place 😂, but it’s really great. I dare say it’s one of the few accommodations in China where I can experience the service and culture so immersively. I’d like to share it with everyone for free. And when we went there, the price was very cheap during the off-season, which was really great value. #Register for May Hotel Test Sleeper 2025 #Fujian #Zhangzhou #Nanjing #Tulou #New Year's Destinations 2025 #B&B #Hotel
