Jiangxi Museum was established in 1953 and is the largest comprehensive museum in the province. It is one of the first national first-class museums, a provincial patriotic education base, and one of the first key ancient book protection units in Jiangxi Province. Over the past 60 years, Jiangxi Museum has moved from the old museum at Bayi Square to the new museum on Xinzhou Road and then to the new museum on Ganjiang North Avenue. The new museum is one of the three major museums in the Jiangxi Cultural Center. It is designed in the shape of a square box, symbolizing a treasure box. The museum has six floors, a construction area of 86,000 square meters, and an exhibition area of 28,000 square meters. Jiangxi Museum houses precious historical relics and ancient art treasures discovered throughout Jiangxi, making it the museum with the largest collection of cultural relics in the province. The museum has established a display system that combines permanent and temporary exhibitions, consisting of eight permanent exhibitions and three temporary exhibition halls.
