303 Observation Deck: A Bird's-Eye View of Nanchang

After ascending the Tengwang Pavilion, I had planned to wait for nightfall to enjoy the night view here, but looking at the time, it was much earlier than expected. So, I decided to head straight to the 303 Observation Deck across the river, thinking that the view from there would be even more spectacular. Standing amidst this urban forest, it wasn't completely dark yet. Looking up, there was a strong sense of oppression. This is a business district, with high-rise buildings densely packed. The 303 Observation Deck is a tourist attraction, with advertisements and signposts nearby, making it easy to find the entrance. After checking my ticket, I followed the signs to the elevator, where a staff member operated the lift and took me up to the clouds. The high-speed elevator, known as the 'teleportation gate,' travels at a speed of 6 meters per second, almost like being on an airplane, with a buzzing in my ears. In the midst of conversation, we reached the 60th floor, which is the legendary 303 Observation Deck. The number 303 signifies its height of 303 meters. From below, the building seemed tall and slender, but upon reaching the top hall, I found it surprisingly spacious. The surrounding floor-to-ceiling windows were very thick, so there was no fear of heights at all. It was still not completely dark outside, but the light had dimmed, and the landscape lights were not yet on. The lights inside the hall caused some reflections. After walking around, the most beautiful area was, of course, the riverside. I tried hard to find the Tengwang Pavilion, which seemed so small amidst the urban forest, having lost its grandeur of the past. The observation deck has a café☕. When you're here, you must have a drink to match the mood. But I couldn't enjoy coffee, fearing it would keep me awake at night, so I ordered a light green tea with a dish of crispy peanuts. There weren't many people in the hall, so I found a good riverside spot to sit and wait for nightfall. This anticipated beauty arrived as expected. Time flowed by unnoticed, and the city lights turned on punctually, creating a colorful and peaceful scene. Sitting in the clouds, holding a warm cup of tea, I felt the beauty of the world even more. I had originally wanted to stand at the city's highest point and look down at the night view of the Tengwang Pavilion, but it was already submerged in lights, and what I gained instead was the scenery of the entire city. After fully taking in the view, it was time to leave. There is no feast that doesn't end, and once you've seen the beautiful scenery, that's enough. 🍜 Although it's a high-rise building, there are also human touches, with many gourmet eateries hidden in the urban forest. Tomorrow morning, I will take the high-speed train from Nanchang back to Guangdong, and I plan to have Nanchang rice noodles one more time as a memento. It's strange with food; it only tastes right in its place of origin.
