| Chongqing Pharmaceutical Factory No. 7 Residential Area. Nan'an | Chongqing Pharmaceutical Factory No. 7 Residential Area Qianqu Road, Chongqing Pharmaceutical Factory No. 7 Residential Area is located on Qianqu Road, Shangxin Street, Nan'an District, Chongqing. The predecessor of Chongqing Pharmaceutical Factory No. 7 was four private pharmaceutical factories: Zhongfa, Minsheng, Huayang, and Xiehe. Among them, Xiehe Pharmaceutical Factory was the Xiehe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. established by Song Ziwen under Lion Rock in Hong Kong in 1914. During the Anti-Japanese War, it moved to Chongqing and merged into Xiehe Chemical Pharmaceutical Factory after the war. Minsheng Pharmaceutical Factory moved to Nan'an, Chongqing in 1938 and merged with Zhongfa Pharmaceutical Branch in 1955. Huayang Pharmaceutical Factory was originally a pharmacy and later expanded into a pharmaceutical factory. These small factories all developed in Nan'an District, with Minsheng Pharmaceutical Factory being the strongest. Its "Three Dan" Rendan, Jinlingdan, and Bajiaodan were popular among the public; Huayang was second, mainly producing tablets; Xiehe was the smallest in scale but excelled in technical strength. This small workshop-style factory, which sprouted in the early Republic of China during the war, began its difficult survival journey. In 1956, the private Zhongfa Pharmaceutical Factory, private Minsheng Pharmaceutical Factory, private Xiehe Pharmaceutical Factory, and private Huayang Pharmaceutical Factory merged to form a joint public-private enterprise, Chongqing Pharmaceutical Factory, which was transformed into a state-owned enterprise and renamed Chongqing Pharmaceutical Factory No. 7 in 1965. In the early days of its establishment, the factory produced five major categories: tablets, powder injections, tinctures, ointments, and "Three Dan." After a century of development, Chongqing Pharmaceutical Factory No. 7 has grown from a small workshop-style factory into a new enterprise with orderly management, complete equipment, advanced production technology, and excellent product quality, with 16 subsidiaries. In 1999, it was restructured into Chongqing Kerui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and relocated to Nan'an Economic Development Zone. The factory residential area is still in its original location, and the hustle and bustle of the past is gone, waiting quietly for a new round of demolition. Next to Chongqing Pharmaceutical Factory No. 7, there was originally an old pharmaceutical factory with a history of over 100 years: Tongjunge Pharmaceutical Factory. In the urban development and demolition, the old Tongjunge factory building has disappeared, and the residential area on Guohou Street has been leveled. Tongjunge Pharmaceutical Factory is Chongqing Pharmaceutical Factory No. 8.
