It is an overwhelming field of colorful wildflowers. However, when I visited in the spring of 2017, unfortunately, the previous winter had little rainfall, so the overwhelming flower garden was not seen... It seems that 2024 was a year of good harvest, so it's really a matter of luck. It is easy to get to Namaqualand by tour from the local area, but you can also go around by yourself in a rental car from Cape Town or Namibia. Rental cars are more flexible, but it may be more efficient to have a local guide to find out where the wildflowers are blooming.
