Nam Kang Ho Tao - the most difficult trekking
Nam Kang Ho Tao is the most difficult trekking route in the Northwest with complex and dangerous terrain because it has to overcome many slippery cliffs. Nam Kang Ho Tao has an altitude of 2,881 and is a mountain peak in the Northwest mountains of Vietnam. The mountain peak is located in Thao A village, Ho Mit commune, Tan Uyen district, Lai Chau province. Location Nam Kang Ho Tao is located between the boundary of Lai Chau and Lao Cai. This is a pristine mountain area with extremely complex terrain. The journey to conquer this mountain range requires physical strength, perseverance and endurance. Those who come to conquer are less because of the beautiful scenery and more because they want to overcome their own limits.
Nam Kang Ho Tao is also known as the "road of torture". There are many places where if you don't have a safety belt, you can't pass if you crawl with your whole body and hold on with your legs and arms.
The most tiring part of the road is when going through the forest. The forest road at Nam Kang Ho Tao is like a maze with no exit. The trail traces are not clear, every section is the same. The traveler must walk and find the way.
Waterfalls and streams are as dangerous as their beauty. Due to the terrain with many cliffs and streams, the flow here is strong and quite slippery. You should be careful when crossing streams to avoid accidents.
There are 2 times you should conquer: February to the end of March and around September to the end of November.
The weather is cool. The temperature is neither too hot nor too cold, helping your health to be more stable. The weather was mildly sunny, making the terrain less slippery. Little or no fog will make it easier to determine direction. This is also the season when many ethnic people go to the mountains to dig bamboo shoots and hunt, so the trails are quite clear and easy to follow.
Absolutely do not go to Nam Kang Ho Tao during the rainy season (May to the end of September). The cliff became a slippery death zone. Streams that are difficult to navigate will become rushing waterfalls, bringing flash floods at any time. The forest rains will give you malaria, and if you are accidentally bitten by a forest mosquito, it will be extremely dangerous.
