Wat Sisa Thong, Nakhon Pathom Province, worshiping Phra Rahu, very famous

Wat Si Sa Thong is considered one of the oldest temples in Nakhon Chai Si District. It was built in the early Rattanakosin period in 2358 B.E. and this temple is considered the center of Lao people of Vientiane and nearby communities because the area of ​​Wat Si Sa Thong was originally an uninhabited forest because it was far from a water source. Until the reign of King Rama I, Lao people from Vientiane migrated to settle there. They cleared the forest to establish a community. When it was settled, they built a temple and found a golden Buddha head buried in the ground, so it was named 'Wat Hua Thong'. Later, a canal was dug from the Tha Chin River at Ton Son Market to be a route for the royal procession to pay homage to Phra Pathom Chedi. People therefore moved to live along the Chedi Bucha Canal. On this occasion, the temple was moved to make it easier to travel and the name was changed to Wat Si Sa Thong until today. The most famous building is the Rahu statue, which the abbot, Luang Pho Noi Nawarat, was the monk who revived the Rahu statue. Until people from all directions come to worship Phra Rahu all the time.
