Exploring Nairobi: A Perfect Blend of Adventure, Culture, and Cuisine

Travel: My journey to Nairobi began with a flight from Guangzhou, China, to Nairobi, Kenya, via Doha. The connection through Doha was smooth, and the anticipation of exploring Kenya's vibrant culture and wildlife made the long journey worthwhile. Stay: I divided my stay between two places: Emara Ole-Sereni Hotel: This upscale hotel offers fantastic amenities, including a rooftop bar where I enjoyed drinks and great music while overlooking the city. The ambiance was perfect for unwinding after a long day. Enzi Apartments: Later in my trip, I opted for a more homely experience at Enzi Apartments. These accommodations were cozy, clean, and offered excellent value for money. Things to Do: Nairobi offers a wide range of activities that cater to all kinds of travelers. Here are the highlights from my trip: 1) Visit to Isinya: Early in my trip, I traveled to Isinya to meet friends. We had a fantastic barbecue, enjoying the local flavors and hospitality. During my trip, I also indulged in local Kenyan cuisine and tried ugali, a staple dish that perfectly complemented the rich flavors of the barbecue and other traditional dishes. 2) Nairobi National Park: A day spent at this park was unforgettable. For $45 USD, I saw incredible wildlife and experienced Kenya's natural beauty. Note that tickets must be purchased via the e-Citizen platform using a card. 3) National Museum and Snake Park: I dedicated another day to exploring these attractions. A combined ticket costs 1,600 KSH. Registration and payment on the e-Citizen website were required, and only cards or M-Pesa were accepted. 4) Giraffe Centre: Hand-feeding giraffes at this center was an unforgettable experience! The entry fee for foreigners is 1,200 KSH, payable only via card or M-Pesa. 5) China Town in Nairobi: I was curious to explore the Chinese food scene in Nairobi. I visited Chinatown and enjoyed authentic Chinese dishes, which made me feel right at my second home. Costs Nairobi is a city where you can manage your budget effectively, but most attractions require prior online booking and payment. Here's a quick summary of costs: Nairobi National Park: 45 USD National Museum and Snake Park: 1,600 KSH (combined ticket) Giraffe Centre: 1,200 KSH Payments are made via e-Citizen and M-Pesa, so ensure you have access to these methods. Souvenirs For souvenirs, Nairobi offers a variety of local treasures. I picked up: 1) Coffee Beans and Black Tea: Kenya is known for its high-quality coffee and tea, which are perfect for gifts or personal indulgence. 2) Macadamia Nuts and Cashew Nuts are excellent snacks and easy to carry home. These items are readily available at markets and specialized shops throughout the city. Final Thoughts My trip to Nairobi perfectly blended adventure, culture, and relaxation. From the stunning wildlife and rich history to delicious food and vibrant nightlife, the city exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Nairobi as a travel dest #naturalwonders
