Ryukyu no Ushi - A Must-Try in Okinawa!

Ryukyu no Ushi is famously hard to book. Originally, the International Street branch was fully booked about a month before our trip, but I kept checking for openings out of boredom and managed to snag a reservation when a spot opened up! (I was even considering staying a night in Onna just to dine at their Onna branch 😂). On the day of our visit, there were already many people lining up outside the restaurant. We had a reservation for the 5:00 PM opening time. Some online guides suggest trying your luck by lining up before the restaurant opens if you don’t have a reservation, but on the day we dined, there were no extra seats available for walk-in customers. So, it’s best to book in advance. I was filled with anticipation for this meal before we even set off, and it did not disappoint! Even my mom, who doesn’t usually eat beef, said it was delicious. I’ve tried barbecue at izakayas recommended online during previous trips to Okinawa, and they were good too, but Ryukyu no Ushi clearly offers a more diverse selection. The seating is spacious and comfortable, and the quality of the meat is excellent. Despite the marbling, it wasn’t overly greasy. After finishing the meal, my mom said that next time we visit Okinawa, I must book this restaurant again 🤣🤣🤣
