Enjoy a whole day for just 600 yen! Photogenic Science Museum

#JapanTravelStrategy Nagoya City Science Museum 2-17-1 Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture 460-0008 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM Closed every Monday, but open on holidays It's a 25-minute train ride and a 5-minute walk from Fushimi Station. Adults can enter for 600 yen, and junior high school students and younger can enjoy it for free. The celestial body area in particular was truly beautiful. We had a blast seeing a live tornado, watching videos in temperatures ranging from 40 degrees (hot room) to near-freezing (cold room), and experiencing touching fabric and metal. I recommend making reservations in advance if possible! The planetarium costs extra, but it was huge and amazing, so I highly recommend going! #DomesticTravel #NagoyaSightseeing #NagoyaTrip

Nagoya City Science Museum

#postandearn The Nagoya City Science Museum is one of the most exciting and futuristic attractions in Japan, and it’s a must-visit for anyone who loves science, technology, or simply wants to experience something unique. Located in Shirakawa Park, this museum is famous worldwide for its massive silver sphere, which houses the world’s largest planetarium. Even from the outside, the architecture is stunning — the futuristic design immediately sparks curiosity and excitement. Inside, the museum is full of interactive exhibits that make science fun for visitors of all ages. Each floor is dedicated to different fields, from space and astronomy to biology, technology, and chemistry. You can explore how electricity works, test your strength, or even experience a simulated earthquake in the Earth Science section. Families with kids especially love the hands-on experiments, which turn complex scientific concepts into entertaining and educational games. The highlight for most visitors is, of course, the planetarium. Sitting inside the huge dome, you are transported into the stars through incredibly detailed projections. The advanced technology makes the experience feel as if you are truly floating in space, watching the universe unfold around you. Shows are presented in Japanese, but even without understanding the language, the visuals themselves are breathtaking. Another unique feature is the Tornado Lab, where you can see a nine-meter-tall artificial twister form right in front of your eyes. It’s both thrilling and educational, giving you a safe look at the power of nature. The Deep Freezing Lab is equally unforgettable — here, you can step into a room chilled to minus 30 degrees Celsius to feel what extreme cold is really like. Practical tips: Plan to spend at least half a day here, because the museum is huge and has so many exhibits to see. The planetarium shows are extremely popular, so it’s a good idea to book or arrive early to secure tickets. Wear comfortable shoes, as you’ll be walking a lot, and don’t forget to bring some curiosity — this museum is best enjoyed when you’re ready to play, explore, and learn. The Nagoya City Science Museum is more than just a museum — it’s an adventure into the wonders of science. Whether you’re traveling with kids, exploring solo, or visiting with friends, it’s the perfect stop to be amazed, inspired, and entertained in Nagoya.
