Nagoya JR Gate Tower Hotel Deluxe Room

#OverseasHotel For my second day in Nagoya, I chose this hotel without hesitation, as my itinerary included a return trip to Suzuki, Mie Prefecture, on my way from Kyoto, and then to the Starbucks Reserve adjacent to Nagoya Station. The Nagoya JR Gate Tower Hotel is directly connected to JR Nagoya Station. The hotel lobby is on the 15th floor, and the guest rooms are located on the 18th to 24th floors. I arrived in Nagoya from Kyoto around 6 PM and checked in. A nervous trainee checked me in, and we chatted to help me relax. (Maybe that's why?) There are only four Deluxe Corner Twin Rooms (with a View) on each floor, and I was assigned to the top floor, the 24th floor. (Lucky.) Entering the room, I noticed there were five windows. 😍 Two above the bed, one in the living room, and the bathroom also had two full-length windows over the sink and bathtub. Because the air conditioning was only in the room, the bathroom was a bit cold. The room temperature was set to over 28 degrees Celsius, so the warm air continued all night, and even with the blackout curtains drawn, it was incredibly warm. There's a tablet with internet access, allowing for one-touch access to YouTube, various search engines, and room controls. The amenities are fully stocked for three people. The bathroom is separate from the entrance. The bathroom is particularly spacious. However, because it's cold, I leave the bathroom door slightly open to let in some warmth from the room, fill the tub with hot water, and take a half-bath with herbal bath salts. When I turn off all the lights in the bathroom, the beautiful night view of Nagoya comes through the large windows. I postpone my Suzuki itinerary until July and enjoy the amenities connected to the hotel. There's a Starbucks Reserve with a great terrace view on the same floor as the hotel lobby, and another on the 13th floor of Takashimaya, connected via an internal passageway. There's also a Bic Camera on the 9th floor, so you can do all your shopping. After midnight, you'll need a card key to enter the dedicated elevator room. Be careful, as the entrance is only on the 1st floor. The next morning, you can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance. Not only Nagoya Castle, which was visible at night, but also Nagoya Dome came into clear view. The weather was good, allowing me to see the sights I missed when I checked in at night. We head to the 15th floor for breakfast. A special feature is the towering grilled eel, where you can make your own hitsumabushi. There's also a barista-style cafe with latte art. Other unique items include tuna tataki and tamago sandwiches. This hotel doesn't have a minibar. Hotels like this often allow you to check out using a machine, rather than having to wait for a staff member. This hotel is no exception. Just press two buttons, insert your card, and you're done—very convenient. Another plus is that it's a Triple Reserve Susukino hotel. I visited the Reserve on the 15th floor the day before, and today, after checking out, I'm heading to the Reserve, located in the restaurant area of Takashimaya Department Store on the 13th floor. The department store opens at 10:00 AM, but Starbucks opens at 8:00 AM, so I can use it. It's connected to the hotel, so I can go there without leaving the hotel. Thank you.
