Nagoya Castle

Nagoya Castle is a symbol of Nagoya, built in 1610 by the warlord Tokugawa Ieyasu. It served as the residence of the Owari Tokugawa family, one of the three major Tokugawa families, before the fall of the shogunate. The castle was destroyed during World War II and was rebuilt in 1959 with a five-story main keep and a smaller keep. Inside the main keep, various national treasure-level murals and historical materials are displayed, offering a glimpse into the history of the Tokugawa family and Nagoya Castle.
