Japan Alps Review – The High, Humble and Beautiful Mountains Without Explanation 🏔️❄️🌿 The Japan Alps is the name of a large mountain range that stretches across central Japan, covering Nagano, Toyama, Gifu and several neighboring prefectures. It is divided into three main groups: Northern, Central and Southern Alps. Mt. Hotaka (穂高岳) and Mt. Yari (槍ヶ岳) are two famous peaks in the Northern Alps — and are the backdrop for the picturesque Kamikōchi. But these mountains are not “beautiful” enough to climb to the top. Just looking at them from below… my heart feels a “stillness” that is strong enough to heal something in my heart. 🗻 When looking at the Japan Alps on a clear day, you will see the peaks covered with a thin layer of snow, white against the deep blue sky. Some mountains are tall and pointed, some are round and soft — this diversity does not reduce the elegance at all. It makes me feel that nature doesn’t have to be perfect in every way. 🌤️ The Japanese Alps change with the seasons — spring has snow on the mountaintops, summer is lush green, autumn is tinged with red, orange, yellow, and winter is a quiet white world that makes your heart stop running after anything. 👣 Whether looking from Kamikōchi, Hakuba, Norikura, or even from a nature train, the view of the Japan Alps makes us feel like we are just a small dot in a big world. But not a small, worthless dot — it is a point where we are allowed to gently “rest.” ✨ Sometimes, looking up at the mountains quietly is like looking into your own heart. High, beautiful, and still… We don’t need to say anything, but we understand each other deeply.
