Instead, you will be treated to full, 1:1 scale models of the houses and other sets as seen in the movies. You can walk in the houses, and basically touch and examine all the props in the house. This kind of interaction would never work anywhere but in Japan - as I can imagine that people would steal the items in any other country. Thankfully, the Japanese culture allows such displays, as the ability to walk through Howl’s Moving Castle and wear Sophie’s hat is just incredible! You must buy tickets early, and be prepared to spend the whole day walking around to the various sites. The only thing I wish is that they had more food venues - as they only had 2 restaurants. One at the very beginning on the park, and one in the park (which had very limited offerings). Also, I am not sure I’d come here with small children, as the activities and sites are more geared to the teen / adult audience due to the lack of actual “Disney-like entertainment” Overall, a great and fun place. Pro-tip: Be sure to buy the “Premium” ticket as it allows access to the inside of the houses and other areas that really would be the main part of the whole tour. Also, be sure to buy bread at the “Guchokipanya” Bakery (Kiki’s Bakery), and get everything as it is simply delicious! If you want to skip the line, they were offering a “set” of fixed bakery offerings around the corner where you could walk up and purchase with almost no waiting.
